The project was in an environmentally sensitive area so all the equipment involved in the project was broken
down and transported by Hercules aircraft. The work involved, constructing tailings ponds, dykes suitable
to contain any residue from the mill operations and moving approximately 750,000 cubic metres of fill to
construct the mill site and the dams.
